Sustainability is a state where a community or a group of people living together are able to live in harmony using the available resources without those resources getting finished and those people having the ability to maintain, multiply and manage those resources using them daily for their benefit with out depletion.
As a foundation we started a sustainable project and this is currently an agricultural sustainable project.
Agriculture is the science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products mainly for human consumption.
As Lukwago CARE Foundation, in the year 2016 We decided to take a journey to become a sustainable foundation.
Many NGO'S / foundations across the African continent have closed and are no longer existing because of limited support.
NGO'S In Africa depend on donations and grants for their existence and when they get low or no foreign support, they are bound to close.
There times in the past where as a foundation we have faced seasons of low support and this greatly affected our children's education where many were forced to go out of school for a full year and it's against this background that our founder Lukwago Godfrey initiated the Sustainable Project and we have started with the "Sustainable Milk Cow Project".
In this milk cow project we so far have 4 cows.
The first two cows both black no horns were bought by a family from the USA🇺🇸 who are also our foundation sponsors and this is the Bakers Family who were also our first international directors.
The second Long horned cow horned brown Cow was bought by a Japanese🇯🇵 organisation called the Nantongo foundation.
The fourth new Cow with short horns has been bought this year 2018 by another family from USA🇺🇸 who also sponsors our foundation and this is the Brandon Family.
These cows are given names by our sponsors.
We have a dream as a foundation of owning over 100 Milk cows.
With this project we will be in position to milk the cows & then sell the milk. The funds raised from selling the milk will be used to educate, feed, cloth and house the orphans and suffering African Children.
As a foundation we plan to also to also carry out poultry and crop farming when we buy our own land.
Below are the photos of our foundation cows. Beginning with Construction of the Cow Shelter that was Sponsored by our Sponsor Jen From Australia🇬🇧.
