Thousands of Girls in Uganda face great danger while growing up and even when they grow, they still face challenges like being denied to access certain Jobs and when some get the chance to work they are abused at their work places. We designed this project to provide free education to girls whose parents can't afford to take the to school and those who are orphans.
At Lukwago #CARE Foundation, ending gender-based violence and ensuring equal employment opportunities for Ugandan women is our top priority and this begins with educating the girl child.
Supporting girl child education is part of our mission to uplift and transform lives of Ugandan girls and women because we believe that girls too are as equal and special as boys/ men. In some communities girls are kept at home without giving them a chance to access school and when they become teenagers, they are married off against their will to old men. This mainly happens in poor communities where such girls can't access school due to lack of school fees but at Lukwago CARE Foundation we believe if such a girl is given an opportunity to go back to school, they can attain life skills that can sustain them when they grow up and also be in position to make life choices that will positively impact their lives and the community at large.
